Frequently Asked Questions - Elopements

Do we need a permit to elope in the Smoky Mountains?

Yes and no. All wedding and elopement ceremonies in Great Smoky Mountains National Park require a Special Use Permit. I help couples understand this process and plan accordingly. Areas outside the park usually don't require a permit, but may have a rental fee. There are places for true elopements ( just the two of you) that are free.

Can you officiate elopements in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville?

Yes. I officiate elopements and weddings throughout Gatlinburg, Sevierville, and Sevier County, Tennessee. I also travel throughout East Tennessee and Western North Carolina.

Can you officiate elopements in Wears Valley and Townsend?

Yes. I officiate elopements and weddings throughout Wears Valley, Townsend, and Blount County, Tennessee. I also travel throughout East Tennessee and Western North Carolina.

How far in advance should we book an elopement officiant?

You can call me to elope today! Tennessee has no waiting period, so go grab a license and I will meet you at the Dolly Statue. Most couples book 5–8 weeks in advance for elopements in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The GSMNP requires a min 30 day notice.

Do you perform non-religious or interfaith ceremonies?

Yes. I offer faith-based, interfaith, spiritual, and non-religious ceremonies personalized to each couple.

Can you help us plan our elopement ceremony?

Yes. I guide couples through ceremony structure, timing, and logistics so the day feels relaxed and meaningful.

What days of the week do you perform elopements?

I officiate elopements on weekdays and weekends, subject to availability and permit requirements.

Do you work with photographers or venues?

Yes. I regularly collaborate with local photographers and vendors and am happy to provide recommendations.
